Leopard Sitting on Rock
Leopard Sitting on Rock
Although leopards have a natural ability to adapt well to various habitats and environmental conditions, leopard poaching and habitat loss have endangered some subspecies of leopard or even caused their new-extinction.

Many people who are working hard to protect leopards from poaching advocate environmental protection to preserve habitats for leopards and other animals. Some natural leopard habitats have been turned into wildlife reserves or parks. Scientists study leopards to learn their behaviors. Leopards are stealthy and secret animals. They try to avoid people as much as possible. Scientists use camera trap and radio tracking to collect information about leopards.

Some zoos share and trade adult leopards that are ready to breed. Leopards mate and have strong and healthy cubs in good environments. Some of these cubs may be set free in wildlife parks.

Although, today, the trade of leopard skins is banned by law in most countries; however, poaching and illegal trading of leopard skins continue.
